Flutissimo

Flutissimo

Flutissimo is a mixed level Flute focused small ensemble. Flutissimo meets year-round with breaks between the terms. The fall, winter and spring terms sync with the PNHB terms while the summer term was developed by request of the PNHB Board in 2015 to be geared towards beginner flutes and is meant to be more casual, flexible, with less commitment to still enjoy the summer. The summer session is the suggested entry point for Green Band Flute Players who have just recently completed their first year. The group switched to on-line practices during the pandemic and found that it worked well and made it easier to meet particularly during the flu seasons/winter/bad weather days etc. Online rehearsals require a device with a webcam that can use Zoom, email, MuseScore and Google Drive. Instructions and help with set up will be provided as needed. The Zoom link and rehearsal plan are sent to members by email on the Sunday prior to the meeting. We usually meet in person during the summer months at Christine’s home on Ridgetop Crescent (the flute kitchen). The group has not performed lately but in the past members have performed for church services, garden parties, background music for events and senior residences. Considerations for performance are based on agreement and commitment of the members. Please note: During the winter term the online method can also accommodate other instruments. Non-Flute Players who can’t get to regular PNHB rehearsals due to illness, injury, being out of town, or happen to be a snowbird and want to “keep their chops up” are welcome to join. Some advance notice is needed to arrange and transpose music.

When: Thursdays from 1:30pm to 3pm when we rehearse online and 1pm to 3pm when we meet in person.
